Since Tosh’s death at his St Andrew home in September 1987, she has travelled a long road to get recognition for his success as a solo artist after leaving The Wailers, as well as getting industry investors to recognize the value of his heritage. A MUSEUM TO HONOR PETER TOSH, OPENS IN KINGSTON OCTOBER 19, HIS BIRTHDAY!

 Peter Tosh—- A MUSEUM dedicated to life and works of late reggae singer Peter Tosh will be opened on the grounds of Pulse Model Agency on Trafalgar Road in St Andrew, on October 19. The project is a joint venture among Pulse; the Tosh Estate; and Marlene Brown, Tosh’s partner at the time of his death. Some of the activities include the highly anticipated grand opening of the Peter Tosh Museum, in addition to a concert featuring Tosh’s original band, Word, Sound and Power and a symposium. Music News understands that members of the Peter Tosh Museum are working assiduously to meet its grand opening on Tosh’s birthday, October 19. Pulse CEO, Kingsley Cooper who is spearheading the project, revealed on Sunday, during the Running African Forum with Ka’Bu Ma’At Kheru that the Pulse Center which will house the museum has been renamed the Peter Tosh Square. The late singer’s 1987 Grammy now belongs to Dylan McDermitt of LBC Pawn in Somerville, MA. McDermitt says a Tosh family member came into his store about 5 months ago, looking to unload the Grammy for Best Reggae Recording and one of Peter’s Martin acoustic guitars. McDermitt jumped at the opportunity and snatched the Grammy for $4k and the guitar for $2k more. He hinted the relative — whose name he doesn’t want to reveal — was hocking the items due to a family battle over Tosh’s estate. The OG Wailer did not have a will when was shot and killed in 1987.
