RAGING FYAH’s SIZZLING SUMMER SINGLE “DASH WATA” IS HOTTING UP THE AIRWAVES!

Regarded as one of Jamaica’s most promising young acts, self contained band Raging Fyah has recently released their third studio album “Everlasting” (debut #2 on Billboard). Deemed to become an instant classic, “Everlasting” has delivered a 13 tracks must have for all reggae lovers. ARTISTS AND PRODUCERS GOT MORE $ FOR THEIR WORKS IN 2015, ACCORDING TO REPORT FROM JACAP!

Beenie Man and D’Angel—- Entertainers, music producers and other members in the creative arts took home more money as a result of their creative works last year. The 3,479 members of the Jamaica Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers (JACAP) received $39 million in royalty payment in 2015 from the association. This is a noticeable improvement on 2014 when $12.7 million was paid out to members. At that time, the membership stood at 3,397. JACAP also saw an improvement in the amount of royalties it collected from overseas sources. In 2015, the association collected $14.1 million, an increase of $7.3 million, relative to 2014. JACAP was established in March 1998 to oversee the collective administration of music copyright in Jamaica, and administer rights on behalf of songwriters, composers and publishers. RAGING FYAH MAKES BILLBOARD DEBUT WITH “EVERLASTING!”

BY KEVIN JACKSON—  Raging Fyah— RAGING Fyah blazes the Billboard Reggae Album chart this week. The band’s third studio effort, Everlasting, is their first entry on the table, debuting at number two. Released May 27 by VP Records subsidiary, Dub Rockers, the 13-track set includes Justice, Dash Wata, Ready For Love, Humble, Raggamuffin, Live Your Life and Would You Love Me. There are collaborations with Busy Signal, Hawaiian reggae artist J Boog, and Jesse Royal. AMERICAN IDOL WINNER FANTASIA, HEADLINES THE FREE CONCERT “BLUES ON THE GREEN” IN KINGSTON, FEBRUARY 26!

 Fantasia— AMERICAN R&B singer Fantasia is the headliner for the annual Blues on the Green concert scheduled for Emancipation Park in St Andrew, on Friday, February 26. The free concert, now in its 24th year, is hosted by the US Embassy in Kingston and commemorates African-American History Month. Showtime is 7:00 pm and this year’s theme is Out of Many, One! THE SECOND COMING OF ROOTS SINGER I KONG!

 I Kong— Roots singer I Kong had a decade as an entertainer under his belt when he recorded the song The Way It Is in 1972. Released in 1978, The Way It Is was produced by Tommy Cowan with the Inner Circle band as musicians. Michael Lee was executive producer. The song, and album, never gained mainstream coverage but always had an underground following in Europe where it is currently enjoying a revival. “It’s really a revelation to see and hear how the people there have responded to my performances. VP RECORDS’ VPAL DISTRIBUTION, IS KEEPING THE BEAT ALIVE!

Six years ago, the Queens, New York label launched its VP Associated Label (VPAL) which distributes music by artists and producers looking to tap into mainstream and remote markets. Donovan Williams, label manager at VPAL, said 2015 has been its most productive year. “It has been a good year, we’ve seen substantial growth on the distribution and the production side and we’ve gotten inquiries from so many independent artists, producers & managers worldwide about our services,” Williams told the Sunday Observer. RAGING FYAH EYES AMERICAN REGGAE MARKET, SIGNS MULTI-ALBUM DEAL WITH VP RECORDS!
