KINGSTON nightlife has gained another player in the form of Drinks on the Rock Bar & Lounge, which is located on the grounds of Villa Ronai, Old Stony Hill Road in St Andrew.

The new members-only club is scheduled for its public opening today.

“This is a place that is needed in the Jamaican entertainment sector,” owner David Annakie, told the Jamaica Observer, at the venue’s press launch on Tuesday.

Annakie is CEO of LinkUp Media Group of Companies Incorporated and a popular radio host in New York and the Caribbean diaspora. He’s added Drinks on the Rocks and partner in Fiction Night Club to an already lengthy business portfolio.

“We have plenty of expertise in this market. More important, we’re not in a rush, so we’re going to take our time and develop both,” Annakie said.

Invited guests in attendance at the soft launch were handed stylish black membership cards. The already stylish club sports a second-floor devoted to the VIP experience, with a roped red carpet entrance, plush seating, and multiple big-screen TVs.

Kingsley Cooper, CEO of Pulse Investments and owner of the Villa Ronai property, was on hand to welcome the new entity.

“Drinks on the Rock fits in well with our concept of a lifestyle community. This is just a small part of a project that will unfold over a year or so,” he explained.

Cooper aims to fill the nine-acre property with high-end housing solutions and matching food and entertainment options.

The bar and lounge is tentatively scheduled to operate from Thursday to Saturday, with the occasional Sunday and offer live music as well.
