Kafinal and Daddy U-Roy—

FOLLOWING the success of his single Road Tonight – which sampled Desmond Dekker’s Israelites — singer Kafinal again pays homage to Jamaican pioneer artists.

He teams with veteran deejay U-Roy on the single Nah Complain.

“U-Roy is one of my mother’s favourite artists of all time. She played his music in the house all the time an’ I became an avid fan,” said Kafinal. “As a matter of fact, when I started singing my mother mentioned that if I ever were to do a collaboration she would love for me to do one with U-Roy.”

Nah Complain was recorded in September at the Tuff Gong studios in Kingston. Among the musicians who worked on it were Sly Dunbar, Owen Rennals, Paul ‘Wrong Move’ Crossdale and Courtland ‘Gizzmo’ White.

Kafinal lists John Holt, Alton Ellis, Bob Marley, Jacob Miller and Dekker among his musical heroes.

Road Tonight made several charts including the South Florida Reggae Chart, the New York Foundation Radio Music Chart and Canada’s CHRY 105.5 FM’s Rebel Vibez Top 10. It also enjoyed steady rotation on Mystic Radio in the United Kingdom.
