KAFINAL RELEASES NEW SINGLE “I DON’T WANNA WAIT!”

 Kafinal— Singer Kafinal is delighted about his new single I Don’t Wanna Wait. Produced by Trench Town-based Triple L Records, the track was released earlier this month. “I Don’t Wanna Wait is a call to show the love while we are alive and able to experience and appreciate it,” said Kafinal. Kafinal, who won the Juno Award for Best Reggae Recording in April, has been experiencing a career boost since winning Canada’s highest musical honor. He won for the collaborative effort Nah Complain, featuring veteran deejay Daddy U-Roy. Kafinal (given name Jeffery Williams) hails from Spanish Town in St Catherine. KAFINAL TAKES HOME THE JUNO, CANADA’S GRAMMY AWARD!

 By Kevin Jackson—  Kafinal— Seven years after migrating to Canada, singer Kafinal has won that country’s Juno Award. On Saturday he took the Best Reggae Recording category with Nah Complain featuring U Roy. The Juno is Canada’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards. It took place at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary. The other nominees for Best Reggae Recording were Hello Mama by Exco Levi, Sexy Gal (Kreesha Turner featuring TOK), Escape From the Mongoose Gang(Lyndon John X) and the French Sessions by multi-instrumentalist Dubmatix. “It’s a great feeling to be honored by my peers at the highest level of music in Canada. EXCO LEVI GOES FOR HIS FIFTH JUNO AWARD!

By Kevin Jackson—  Exco Levi— SINGJAY Exco Levi, winner of the last four Reggae Recording of The Year categories of Canada’s Juno Awards, has been nominated for the 2016 event which takes place April 3 at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary. This is the fifth nomination for Exco Levi (born Wayne Ford Levy). The Clarendon-born artist is nominated for the Silly Walks Discotheque-produced Hello Mama.  “It’s really a joy to be nominated for the fifth time. Just to be nominated is a major accomplishment for me,” Exco Levi, who lives in Toronto, told the Jamaica Observer, moments after the nominations were announced. SINGER/ACTOR/COMEDIAN KAFINAL, GETS ONTARIO’S PEABO AWARD!

 Kafinal— ENTERTAINER Kafinal recently won Singer of the Year at the Peabo Awards in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. It capped an outstanding year for Kafinal who is also an actor and comedian. He received the Trailer Blazer, Song of The Year and Top Male Performer awards last summer. He received the Trailblazer Award during the 25th annual Jamaica Day Festival in Toronto.    Kafinal and Daddy U-Roy— FOLLOWING the success of his single Road Tonight – which sampled Desmond Dekker’s Israelites — singer Kafinal again pays homage to Jamaican pioneer artists. He teams with veteran deejay U-Roy on the single Nah Complain. “U-Roy is one of my mother’s favourite artists of all time.
