ROOTS reggae singer Luciano is the latest Jamaican artist to be added to the 22nd annual Sierra Nevada World Music Festival set for June 19-21 at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville, California.
According to the organisers, the ‘Messenjah’ has been included in the line-up as “his voice
resonates like a divinely ordained instrument possessing the power to comfort souls from all walks of life”.
The three-day festival is peppered with Jamaican acts who have long been staples on this North American summer festival.
Among the reggae acts listed for the opening day of the festival are UK-based Steel Pulse, veteran deejay Yellowman, singer Admiral Tibet, the band Pentateuch and rising singer Hempress Sativa.
The ‘big guns’ come out blazing on day two — June 20. The legendary Jimmy Cliff; reggae ambassadors Third World; veteran acts Max Romeo, Ken Boothe and Big Youth. Rising star Jesse Royal and renowned selector Rory Gilligan from Stone Love Movements are on the roster.
Luciano makes the cut for day three and will be joined by veterans Keith & Tex, BB Seaton and Monty Morris. Performance artistes No-Maddz is also slated to perform
