AFTER a eight-year break from the industry, dancehall artist Desperado launched his latest video Turn Wid Yuh Liquor, featuring Tarnado, at the CPJ’s Cru Bar and Kitchen in St Andrew recently. The video is directed by Nordia Rose and shot locally. The occasion was supported by family and members of the entertainment fraternity.
Words of encouragement came from Biggy, Devonte, Chico, Mama Mohina Cole, and dancer Aji. Released in February, the single Turn Wid Yuh Liquor is produced by Burro Instrumentals of Slam Records.
The rhythm boasts the talents of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, as well as producer Lenky Marsden. According to Desperado, getting a music video for the single was of utmost importance. “It’s a fun dance song that creates a picture in the mind of the listeners.
Persons wanted to see how the dance was done and based on the lyrics they wanted to see if we could bring across the message visually,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
The entertainer said since its release the music video has been getting positive reviews. Desperado said he is also busy in the recording studios working on two other singles with Tarnado.
“I recently recorded a ‘girl tune’ called Wild Out which I know will be well received, and I’m also working on the remix of Mama which will feature Sizzla Kalonji,” he said.
Desperado is no stranger to the music scene. His other releases include Big Pimping, Tek It Off, Gyal Dem Time Again, and Dem Want War.
