SIZZLA GOES ON A SEVEN-CITY TOUR TO PROMOTE NEW ALBUM “LIFE OF A GHETTO YOUTH!”

 Sizzla — SIZZLA is headliner for a seven-date tour of the United States to promote his latest album, Life Of A Ghetto Youth . The first show is scheduled for June 10 at The Garden Outdoor Pavilion in Fort Lauderdale. Ras Shiloh, Pressure Buss Pipe, Marlon Asher and Iza King are also part of the trek. Life Of A Ghetto Youth will be released on July 7. Its lead song is Mary Jane, which hears Sizzla performing alongside Pressure, Ras Shiloh and Izac King. Trinidadian Richardo Vasconcellos is executive producer for the album and organizer of the tour, which also has stops in St Petersburg, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina; Stone Mountain, Georgia; Oakland, California; Providence, Rhode Island; and Norfolk, Virginia. The Miami New Times reports that Capleton, Charly Black, singer Kreesha Turner and sound system The Mighty Crown are also confirmed for the event which observes its 24th year. It was initiated by Cedella Booker, mother of reggae legend Bob Marley, to help the indigent in Florida where she lived for many years. Booker died in Miami in 2008 at age 81. The festival’s name is taken from her and Marley’s birthplace of Nine Miles, St Ann. It is where both are buried. Sizzla is known for ‘murder music,’ a type of reggae whose lyrics incite violence against the LGBTQ community and glorify killing individuals who identify as gay. He first emerged onto the Jamaican dancehall scene in the late ‘90s, and quickly became notorious for incorporating hateful lyrics into his songs.
