THERE was a full house at Roe Japanese Restaurant in St Andrew Monday evening for the launch of Reggae Power 2, a joint production between Sly and Robbie’s Taxi Records and Spicy Chocolate, a hot Japanese production group.

The 15-song compilation has songs from a number of artists such as T.O.K, Shaggy, No-Maddz, Richie Stephens, Romain Virgo and Maxi Priest.

Drummer Sly Dunbar and his longtime musical partner, Robbie Shakespeare, were drafted into the project by Spicy Chocolate.

Along with their friend Kaz Osonuma (owner of Roe Japanese), the ‘Riddim Twins’ helped select the artists for the album, which was completed at their One Pop studio, as well as Anchor, in Kingston.

“It’s something new and wi been in the business long enough to have different tastes. Wi always willing to give different things a chance,” Dunbar told Splash.

Dancehall heavyweights and Grammy winners Sean Paul and Beenie Man were among the many guests. Stephens, T.O.K, Virgo, Cherine Anderson, Tanto Metro and Devonte, Devin Di Dakta, Iba Mahr, Omari, Ice Man, Nadine Sutherland, Hawkeye, Protojé, Kabaka Pyramid, Sevanna, Ward 21 and Loyal Flames also attended.
