TAD’S RECORDS RELEASES NEW SERIES “REGGAE COVER JAMMZ VOL.1!”

REGGAE Cover Jammz Vol 1, a new compilation series from Tad’s International Record, was launched last week.

The first in the collection has 14 songs. Tad Dawkins, the company’s principal, describes them as ‘personal favourites’.

“We are taking the opportunity to expand the Tad’s brand catalogue with the Reggae Cover Jammz series through 10 over the next 10 years,” he said.

As its title suggests, ‘Cover Jammz’ are dancehall/reggae renditions of popular songs originally done by pop acts. Some, like LUST’s take on Air Supply’s Just as I Am, were big hits in Jamaica and on regional charts in the United States.

Stevie Face

Singer Stevie Face’s take on Aaron Neville’s Tell It Like It Is, a hit for him in 2009, is also featured. As well as LUST member Lukie D’s spin on the John Legend smash, All Of Me.

Tad’s International Record has had success with other compilations, namely The Ultimate and The Phantom, which focused on edgier acts like deejays Vybz Kartel and Popcaan.
