“It was my decision to do Cold Sweat. It was a song that I always loved… the lyrics to me are deep and I felt very attached to it in a lot of ways,” Causion told the Jamaica Observer.

Cold Sweat was written by Bunny Rugs, Third World’s long-time lead singer who died from cancer in 2014. It is on their 1978 album Journey To Addis, which spawned the massive hit Now That We Found Love.

Daley and the band’s co-founder and guitarist Stephen “Cat” Coore, who played on the original, reprised their roles for Causion’s version.

“We made a few changes, but for the most part kept the basic structure. We changed the drum track and the tempo; Richie laid the bass track with a twist to it and Cat played a different solo than the original,” Causion explained.

Cold Sweat is from his fourth album The Mission In Progress, which was released in 2015.
