THE CONSTANT SPRING POLICE WANT TO TALK TO MAVADO!

Mavado—

Only days after he was reportedly shot at in Cassava Piece, St Andrew, the Constant Spring police have asked dancehall artiste David ‘Mavado’ Brooks to report to them by midday today.

According to the police, they believe Mavado can assist them with an ongoing investigation. However, they did not say what the investigation is about.

Last Saturday, Mavado and his motor vehicle were allegedly shot at while in the community following an argument with a man, who was later taken into custody.

The police also reported three murders in the area last Saturday night, but they did not state if those murders are related to the shooting incident involving the deejay.

But that was not the end of the bloodshed in the community, as another man was killed in the area yesterday morning.

According to the police’s Corporate Communications Unit, 23-year-old Lorenza Thomas was shot by unknown assailants, and chopped several times before being set ablaze.

TIGHT-LIPPED

When THE STAR entered the community yesterday, the usually vibrant community was very tense, and many persons were tight-lipped about the shootings.

“People a stay in, enuh. Not much people a come out pon the road again,” one resident said.

She told the news team that the incident did not happen close to them but people are still being cautious.

“Even though a nuh dem and dung yah a war, any card can play any time,” she added.

Another resident said that persons in the community are fearful because of the recent events, and they are hoping nothing else occurs.

“The man weh dem kill, a kick dem kick dung him door and him fadda haffi run from yah,” he said.
