Etana will have the Florida launch of her Reggae Forever album on Sunday, four months after the 14-song set was officially released by Tad’s International Records.
The event is scheduled to place at Krave Restaurant and Lounge.
The artiste and record company will use the occasion to introduce Reggae Forever in vinyl form.
According to Etana, “I am very excited about the vinyl release. I was the only artiste on the last tour without vinyl.”
That tour of North America was headlined by Hawaiian artiste J Boog, with Etana and Jesse Royal in supporting roles. Etana is scheduled to kick off a solo tour of the United States and Europe this month.
While dissatisfied with time allotment for some of the dates, she said the recent trek opened new markets and will allow her to expand that base when she returns to some of those locations on the upcoming tour.
Reggae Forever debuted at number one on the Billboard Reggae Album Chart but has not been in that table’s Top 20 for the past month. Etana is unfazed. However, It has maintained it top position on the Foundation Radio Network for the past 18 weeks, 4 at No.1.
“I go through the US again in July, UK, Belgium, then I rest to return to the EU (European Union). I have a lot of work to do, as the promotion of an album cannot be complete in only one year. The work continues,” she said.
Vinyl became an underground product with the emergence of the compact disc and digital format. But it has made a remarkable comeback in the last five years, especially in the United Kingdom, Europe and the US west coast.
Seeing those positive trends, most major pop acts today produce limited vinyl versions of their latest albums.
Etana, 33, told the Jamaica Observer that Reggae Forever is doing well.
“I am pleased with the response from everyone I encounter who has heard the album. It’s the first album I have produced on my own; It’s the first album out of five that I own the masters for. I am very excited and I love the fact that they can feel, hear and see all the hard word work it took to complete this album,” she said.
