GREENSLEEVES RECORDS RELEASES THE AUGUSTUS PABLO PRODUCED ALBUM “WHO SAY JAH NO DREAD” BY JACOB MILLER!

 Jacob Miller —

WHO Say Jah No Dread , an album by singer Jacob Miller and producer Augustus Pablo, was released on vinyl by Greensleeves Records yesterday. It was first released on compact disc by RAS Records in 1992.

A press release from VP Records, parent company of Greensleeves, said the 12-song album is also available on all streaming platforms.

The Miller/Pablo sessions were done around 1974 before Miller joined the Inner Circle band. Some of the songs they collaborated on were compiled and released 18 years later by RAS Records, an independent company that was based in Washington DC.

Who Say Jah No Dread contains the title song, Baby I Love You So, Each One, Teach One, and Keep on Knocking. Miller and Pablo worked with the hottest musicians of the day, including The Wailers rhythm section of bass player Aston “Family Man” Barrett and his brother Carlton on drums; bassist Robbie Shakespeare, drummer Lloyd “Tin Leg” Adams and guitarist Earl “Chinna” Smith.

Also sitting in on the sessions, which were done for Pablo’s Rockers label, was master engineer Osbourne “King Tubbys” Ruddock. Each song is accompanied by a dub version.

The songs Miller did for Pablo were not big sellers, but over time have found audiences in Europe and Japan. He joined Inner Circle in 1975 and enjoyed commercial success with a number of songs including Tenement Yard, Peace Treaty and Standing Firm.

Miller was on the verge of major international success with Inner Circle when he was killed in an auto accident in Kingston, in March 1980 at age 27. Augustus Pablo died in May 1999 at age 44.
