BIG SALE BOOST FOR GRAMMY WINNER “44/876!”

Shaggy and Sting 

Following its Best Reggae Album win at the 61st Grammy Awards, 44/876 by Sting and Shaggy has experienced a sales increase. The album sold 208 copies one week after the February 10 Grammys, a significant number compared to the 78 copies it registered the previous week.

To date, 44/876 has sold 52,459 copies, and is number two on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, up from seven last week.

Also experiencing a minor boost from the Grammys is A Matter of Time by Protoje, which moves from number 37 to 16. Twenty-six copies were sold in the week following the awards; the previous week it sold 12 copies.

Since being released last year, A Matter of Time has sold 3,654 copies.

Still Kickin’ by singer Landon McNamara is the new number one, debuting with 460 copies. The 14-song set was released February 8 by Sea Major Seven Inc and is the former surfer’s second chart-topper.

Free Rein by Rebelution bounces to number three with 145 copies while last week’s number one, GOAT by soca star Machel Montano, falls to number four with 129 copies.

Everyday Life, Everyday People by Slightly Stoopid moves up two spots to number six with sales of 15,182 copies. Falling two places to number seven is the compilation, Strictly the Best Vol 58, with 60 copies sold.

Public Confidential by The Beat, featuring Ranking Roger, is down two places to number eight with 207 copies sold. Estelle’s Lovers Rock is down two notches to number nine, while Marching Orders by The Green rises from number 12 to 10.
