AMERICAN-BRED ACTS DOMINATE BILLBOARD REGGAE ALBUM CHART!

One Drop, a six-piece band from San Diego, California, debuts at number two on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart this week with their EP, Far From You, which sold 91 copies in its first week.

One Drop’s music embraces classic roots reggae and dub, as well as rhythm and blues and rock.

According to the band’s bio, their influences include Steel Pulse, Gregory Isaacs and The Police.

Far From You was released October 10 by Neptune Entertainment. It is the belated follow-up to their 2012 album Black Book Diaries, which spent one week at number 10.

Powerful, a six-song EP by Phoenix, Arizona reggae/rock group Fayuca, enters the chart at number four. Released October 11 by La Jirafa Entertainment/Sonority Music Group, it sold 74 copies in its opening week.

This is Fayuca’s fifth album and first to chart on Billboard.

World on Fire by Stick Figure continues to hold the number one spot, selling an additional 473 copies last week for total sales of 14,199.

Hybrid by Collie Buddz also makes a big move, from number 28 to five, while Local Motion by Pepper rises from number 10 to six.

Ways of The World by The Movement slips from number six to seven, while Jah Cure’s Royal Soldier is steady at number eight.

Free Rein by Rebelution spends its 70th week on the chart, rising from number 15 to nine, while Busy Signal’s Parts of The Puzzle loses steam, plunging from number two to 10.

On the Billboard‘s Dance Music Club Songs chart, Banana by Conkarah featuring Shaggy stalls at number 25. It finds better luck on the Reggae Digital Song Sales Chart, where it is number eight.

Koffee dominates the Reggae Digital Song Sales Chart at number one with Toast.

Over on the Official UK Singles chart, Toast re-enters the Top 100 at number 94, having peaked at 70 a few weeks ago. 2 Cups by Lizzy, Tory Lanez, Fredo and Popcaan moves to number 76 having dropped to 78 last week, after entering the chart at number 55 three weeks ago.

Writing on The Wall, a dancehall track by French Montano, Cardi B and Post Malone, is 51 on that chart. Produced by Rvssian and co-written by Steven McGregor, it peaked at number 44.
