TWO YEARS AFTER “PARADISE PLUM”…NAOMI COWAN IS BACK ON THE CHARTS!

Two years ago, Naomi Cowan got the big summer hit most artists dream about. That song, Paradise Plum, was also the singer’s breakthrough single.
Paradise Plum’s greatest success came in South Florida and New York. It topped the South Florida Reggae Chart and Foundation Radio Network Top 30 which covers New York City.

Cowan returned to both tables last week with Peace of Mind, a song released in December as part of singer/producer Protoje’s Rock & Groove Riddim album. It also features Lila Ike, Sevana and Jaz Elise.
Describing the double chart entry as a “humbling feeling”, for Cowan, making a mark in key markets of South Florida and the Big Apple is important.
“I’m honored that the music I’m putting out is appreciated. To see that it is having an impact is even more gratifying,” she said.

Protoje approached her last year to be part of his all-female project. Released by his In.Digg.Nation Collective label, the Rock & Groove set has songs by each artist, accompanied by a dub version.
When Protoje came calling, Cowan had just completed a tour of Europe alongside singer Jesse Royal. She recalled jumping at the opportunity to participate in a venture that involved other emerging female acts.

“I was so excited. I immediately got on board because I love and genuinely respect who I share space with on this project,” she said.
Cowan is the daughter of impresario/music producer Tommy Cowan and his wife, singer Carlene Davis. She launched her recording career in 2015 with the songs Naked and Prepare (Ye The Way)
