SINGJAY IYAH SYTE APPEALS FOR PEACE WITH HIS LATEST SINGLE “WARNING!”

Though Kingston is usually viewed as the epicenter of crime in Jamaica, the country’s rural area is not immune to gang violence. Singjay Iyah Syte appeals for peace in his native St. James parish with the song, Warning.
Produced by 24/7 Music, it is scheduled for release on May 1.

“Yes crime is still a big problem in St. James, especially among the younger populace. It is of great concern to me when not even the babies are exempt anymore…..it’s not just St James or Jamaica, crime is not unique to us; lots of other countries face the same issue,” said Iyah Syte.
Warning hits home for Iyah Syte, who has lived all his in St. James, where the tourist mecca of Montego Bay is located. The parish is prone to outbursts of violence in communities such as Flanker, Glendevon and Canterbury, which has made it consistently among Jamaica’s toughest regions to police.Iyah Syte, whose real name is Dillon Hines, believes he has a responsibility to address violence.”As a father, a leader and teacher, I can  use music to stir the thoughts of the youth,” he said.Iyah Syte has been recording for 25 years. This is not the first time he has appealed to youth to put down their weapons; some of his previous songs like Pray For The Youths and Stray Bullet had similar themes.
