NEW YORK CITY-BORN SINGER KING JAZZY, RELEASES HIS LATEST SINGLE “BODY MOVE!”

A stickler for new sounds, King Jazzy keeps in tune with the hottest trends in pop music. With Body Move, his new song, the American singer blends multiple genres.

Body Move was released in late January. Co-produced by King Jazzy and Motor City Mello, his longtime creative partner, the single is released by their Electric Sticky label.

“It’s a hybrid of EDM, dancehall and Afro pop. It’s really just something to dance to,” he said. “The message is light and to the point..MOVE!”

In 2021, King Jazzy experimented with Trap music on Trap Betty Baby, another song he co-produced with Motor City Mello. That song saluted the ‘hot girls’ in inner-city Jamaica who love to party.

Having spent much of his life in Jamaica, the New York-born King Jazzy is hip to what makes the dancehall tick.

“I do pay attention to what’s popping in Jamaica. I spend a lot of my time here (Jamaica) and I stay in touch with my team and ‘fams’ when I’m gone. The (sound system) selectors and dancers of Jamaica actually chose Body Move to be our current single,” he explained.

Born Benjamin Lamberti, King Jazzy moved to Jamaica when he was seven years-old after his mother married a Jamaican. His early education was in St Mary and St Ann, but as he got into his teens reggae and dancehall consumed him.

Some of his biggest influences are Dennis Brown, Junior Reid, Half Pint, Capleton, Sizzla, Buju Banton and Vybz Kartel.
