CARLENE DAVIS TAKES THE “HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN” ON NEW SINGLE!

Gospel artiste Carlene Davis has started the new year with an inspirational track, Highway To Heaven, released on January 13 through VPal Music.

The veteran gospel artiste said the response has been favorable.

“Even before we did the final mix, we added this song to our performance set list and everyone loved it; the moment the song started everyone would get out their seats dancing and singing along in jubilation and this brought confirmation to us and our distributors VP Records – VPAL Music to release ASAP. We are presently on a promotional drive. The first day out we did three television and four radio interviews and we’ve been moving forward in that same manner and will continue,” she told the Jamaica Observer.

Highway To Heaven was produced by her husband Tommy Cowan on the Glory Music label.

‘Highway’, she says, refers to Jesus Christ. Davis says the song seeks to remind listeners about the love of Christ during trying times.

“One thing I am mindful of is this platform that’s given to me. I consider this a privilege. So with every song that we produce at Glory Music, our aim is to encourage our listeners, offer hope, give them opportunities that point in that direction, to know Christ and let him be known,” Davis said.

“In this song we can sing, dance, lift our hands in praise, show love to our neighbor while delivering the message that Jesus is the ‘Highway to Heaven’ here on earth,” she continued.

The project is complemented with a host of musicians, including drummer Dave “Prime Time” Green, bassist Dale Brown, keyboardists Gregory Palmer and Courick Clarke, and guitarist Andrew Simpson. Back vocalists include: Latoya Newell, Courick Clarke, Michelle Patterson, and Carlene Davis.
