A team that gels is critical to success, especially in the entertainment industry which has no shortage of egos. Mary Isaacs found that synergy in 2023 with producer/songwriter Sangie Davis and Issachar Muzik, an independent company based in Los Angeles.

Two of Isaacs’ songs, Tune In and Tell Me, are numbers 52 and 75 respectively, on The South Florida Top 100 Songs for 2003, compiled by respected broadcaster Clinton Lindsay.

“I am beaming with gratitude and am so thankful to all the broadcasters, selectors, and fans who have embraced these songs, enabling them to be placed on this prestigious chart. I’m overjoyed by the favorable message received by all,” said Isaacs.

Released in April, Tune In is a cover of Gregory Isaacs’ (no relation) classic 1979 song. Tell Me, an original, followed in October; both were distributed by Tuff Gong International.

Isaacs pointed to I’m Happy, her song released two years ago, as setting the pace for a fruitful 2023. Last year, she worked with Issachar Muzik boss Lloyd Shaw and Davis (co-writer of Bob Marley’s Wake Up And Live and Girlie Girlie by Sophia George) to prove that track was not a flash in the pan.

A recording artist since the early 1980s, Isaacs foresees even bigger prospects in 2024.

“We are still onstream for the release of an EP produced by Issachar Muzik so we are back in the studio to continue recording. Live shows pop up now and then and I’m always ready and eager for the music public to experience the fruits of my creative endeavors,” she said.

Afrobeat Medley by The Greaves Brothers and DJ Mossy Kid topped the South Florida Top 100 Songs For 2003. It is co-produced by Wayne Armond and Orville Marshall for My MM Productions.
