“I am out of the passa passa business,” Dr. Love – whose real name is Chris Crooks, a popular social media influencer, who made a career of speaking his mind on Facebook and Instagram live – told Caribbean Life on Tuesday.

“I have been there, done that; now, I am out,” he added.

Four months ago, Crooks took visually impaired reggae singer Nigy Boy from relative obscurity to being the hottest artist in dancehall.

Crooks said that Nigy Boy’s Continent Tour world tour, which started in Montego Bay, Jamaica, in February is “solidly booked” until the end of the year, with upcoming performances in Nassau, Bahamas; West Palm Beach, Fl; Toronto, Canada; Grenada; New York; and Birmingham, Al.

“After his highly anticipated debut performance at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay in July, the tour continues, with dates in Europe, Cayman Islands, Ft. Lauderdale, and Boston,” Crooks said.

“I am extremely proud of Nigy Boy and all that we have accomplished together,” he added. “Yes, it’s a team effort. People think I started working with him after the success of Continent. Not true.

“We started on this journey over three years ago,” Crooks continued. “He is a gift from God. We have much more things to do and places to go. Sky is the limit.”

Crooks disclosed that he initially created “passa passa” content to build his brand.

“It was a strategic move that was very successful,” he said. “It helped to build my brand. I actually cooled off creating that type of content. You have to give up certain things if you want to grow in other ways.

“I am now focused on being the best artist manager I can be, and I am winning,” Crooks added.
