YG Marley’s global hit song Praise Jah in the Moonlight has achieved another milestone.

The song, previously certified silver in the UK and platinum in New Zealand, was today certified gold in France.

The certification was issued by Syndicat National de L’edition Phonographique (SNEP) or National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing in France.

Praise Jah in the Moonlight is the debut single from YG, the son of Rohan Marley (son of the late reggae icon Bob Marley) and singer Lauryn Hill.

The song became a global sensation after it blew up on social media platform TikTok late last year.  It charted in 20 countries including in France, where it peaked at #29.

Other major charts where the song was successful include those in New Zealand and the Netherlands (it topped the charts in both countries), UK, Canada, US, Austria, Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Panama.

YG Marley is scheduled to perform at Reggae Sumfest’s Festival Night 1 on Friday,  July 19.
