FREDDIE McGREGOR BEING REDISCOVERED BY A NEW GENERATION!

  Freddie and Kelly Rowland—. In an age when tech-savvy music fans can access the most obscure songs, veteran artists like Freddie McGregor are being discovered by a new generation. McGregor, who recently turned 58, has been around since the early 1960s, having started his career as a protege of producer Clement ‘Coxson’ Dodd at Studio One in Kingston. He performed last month at the St Kitts Music Festival, sharing the bill with Tessanne Chin as well as American Rhythm and Blues singers Tyrese Gibson and Kelly Rowland. FORMER MEMBER OF R&B GROUP HI-FIVE, ARRESTED FOR THE MURDER OF HIS WIFE!

HOUSTON, US (AP) — A former member of the 1990s R&B group Hi-Five has been arrested in the stabbing death of his wife in Houston. Police say 40-year-old Russell Neal walked into a Harris County sheriff’s office on Wednesday and told authorities his wife was dead at their home. Police say he was arrested and made no further comment. Court records show he remained jailed yesterday on a US$100,000 bond on a murder complaint. He’s scheduled to appear in court Monday. Records don’t list an attorney. Houston police say 24-year-old Catherine Martinez was stabbed multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene. Bronx Most Wanted Entertainment released a statement saying Neal is a former Hi-Five member and isn’t part of an upcoming recording project. CARIBBEAN AIRLINES FLIGHT DENIED LANDING AT FORT LAUDERDALE AIRPORT!

By Janet Silvera– Several Caribbean Airlines passengers were last night left stranded at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston after the flight, destined to Fort Lauderdale, was denied landing by United States Border Control, while mid air. Clive Forbes, the Caribbean Airlines General Manager for Jamaican operations, explained that this was because of a Customs and Border Control curfew. “Fort Lauderdale airport has a cut-off time. It was very close to the cut-off time so therefore, the aircraft had to return. The Inspectorate of the Constabulary is to spearhead the probe. Yesterday, a letter writer in The Gleaner highlighted the situation in the Kingston community saying it was unbearable.
