ROOTS SINGER EVERTON BLENDER RETURNS HOME, AFTER REPRESENTING JAMAICA IN BEIJING!

Reggae Artist, Everton Blender returned home earlier this month following his successful performances representing Jamaica at the Caribbean Music Festival in the Chinese capital of Beijing. The award winning reggae artist was included in a diverse group of musicians selected from the Caribbean to represent their country at the Latin America and Caribbean Music Festival. Other nations represented included Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Panama, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. The free festival staged at the Rose Bud, 798 Art Zone in the Chinese capital was organized to promote cultural cooperation and create opportunities for enhanced exchanges between China and the Caribbean. REVISITING GARNET SILK’S LEGACY, TWENTY YEARS AFTER HIS DEATH!

 SILK… was part of a roots renaissance in the 1990s that also included his close friends Afari, deejay Tony Rebel and singer Everton Blender– IN exactly one month, it will be 20 years since the death of roots-reggae singer Garnet Silk. He and his mother died in an explosion at her Manchester home on December 9, 1994. TONY REBEL FILES AN APPEAL IN COPYRIGHT CASE!

  By Paul Henry—– TONY REBEL… asking the Court to set aside the decision made earlier this month against him—- DEE JAY/Promoter Tony Rebel has filed an appeal against the Supreme Court’s refusal to reinstate his defence in the multimillion-dollar copyright infringement lawsuit against him. The loss in the Supreme Court means that the matter will proceed to an assessment of damages hearing for a determination to be made on how much money Tony Rebel is to shell out to composer Jah Wayne, who claimed that the artist infringed his copyright. But that is likely to be placed on hold in light of the appeal being filed. If Tony Rebel is successful in the Court of Appeal, he would be allowed to contest the lawsuit.
