Fitzroy Francis.— WHILE attending Kingston College in the early 1980’s, Fitzroy Francis got acquainted with the growing music scene in his Waterhouse community. A protege of Black Uhuru founder Duckie Simpson, Francis learned the ropes working with that group and Junior Reid, another Waterhouse talent. Five years ago, Francis launched Mightyful13 Records in New York City. The label had its best year in 2016 with two number one songs — Hugh English’s Hey Jude and Kween Of The Morning Star by Jesse Jendah. “I would describe it as a very successful year for Mightyful13 Records especially as a producer and manager for singer Hugh English and Jesse Jendah.   It’s always a great feeling as an independent label to achieve two number one songs because it demonstrates the discipline and commitment required to achieve your goals,” … Read entire article »

JESSE JENDAH PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE LADIES WITH NEW SINGLE!

Jesse Jendah— Nothing gets the dance floor jumping in summertime than a lovers rock song. Jesse Jendah has been in the music business long enough to know that. The singjay, known for hard-hitting roots tracks like Sip Cup, Leonard Howell, Rothschild Crash Bank, Weed Free and Reparation just to name a few, pays tribute to the ladies on Kween Of The Morning Star, a song produced by Infinity Records, a California-based company. Jendah, who is managed by Fitzroy Francis of Mightyful13 Records, said given the spiteful treatment women have received over the years from certain dancehall elements, Kween Of The Morning Star is appropriate. “A love song (is needed) at this time because the Empresses and Kweens have been stereotyped in the most derogatory names,” said the artist who is also the author of the Rasta … Read entire article »
