GEORGE NOOKS IS RIDING TWO OF BILLBOARD’S CHARTS!

 George Nooks— As a member of producer Joe Gibbs’ formidable camp in the late 1970’s, George Nooks had hit songs like Tribal War and Left With A Broken Heart. As deejay Prince Mohamed, he had a massive hit for Gibbs with Fortyleg Dread. Last week, Nooks entered the Billboard Reggae and Gospel charts at number 4 and 22, respectively, with the album Ride Out Your Storm. It is Nooks’ second collection of inspirational songs. Standing By, his first, was released in 2001 and signaled a remarkable comeback for the Dennis Brown protege. “It’s a great feeling, it means a lot to be on Billboard, especially the Gospel chart with all those big artistes. GEORGE NOOKS RIDES THE STORM ONTO THE BILLBOARD CHART!

George Nooks—-  Reggae crooner George Nooks has made a big leap with his latest album, ‘Ride Out Your Storm’. The 15-track album comprises tracks such as Here I Am, Nobody Greater, My Sweet Lord, I Am Depending On You, and the remix of Not One Broken Vessel. It has made its way to number 11 on the Billboard Reggae Album chart. Commenting on the Tad’s Records co-produced album, Nooks could not be happier. “I am not surprised, though, as the tracks are inspirational and the songs offer comfort. There is a lot of turmoil going on in the world now and I think this album is timely,” he said. This is not Nooks’ first appearance on the Billboard Chart. VYBZ KARTEL’S “KING OF THE DANCEHALL” ENTERS BILLBOARD CHART!

BY KEVIN JACKSON—  Vybz Kartel— King Of The Dancehall, the latest album from imprisoned deejay Vybz Kartel, debuts at number two this week on the Billboard Reggae Album chart. The Adidjahiem Records/TJ Records product is distributed by Zojak Worldwide. With first-week sales of 1,867 copies (according to sales tracker Nielsen Music), King Of The Dancehall has the biggest first-week sales for a dancehall artiste since Beenie Man’s Undisputed in 2006. Produced by longtime Kartel collaborator Linton ‘TJ’ White, the 14-track set contains the hit songs Fever and Western Union. This is Kartel’s sixth title to chart on Billboard. GEORGE NOOKS RIDES TO THE TOP OF THE NEW YORK & SOUTH FLORIDA CHARTS!

 George Nooks— VETERAN singer George Nooks is number one on the Foundation Radio Network New York Top 30 and South Florida Reggae Top 30 charts with his inspirational song Ride Out Your Storm. Produced by Nooks’s Total Records, the song is from his new album of the same name. “We are looking at releasing the album in the second quarter of this year.
