JOE BOGDANOVICH OF DOWNSOUND RECORDS IS THE NEW CHAIRMAN OF REGGAE SUMFEST!

BY BRIAN BONITTO—  Josef Bogdanovich—- JOSEF Bogdanovich, Downsounds Records CEO, is the new chairman of Summerfest Promotions, promoters of Reggae Sumfest. According to former Chairman Robert Russell, the decision for the American businessman to assume the post was made three weeks ago. “We needed some new pairs of eyes with new energy. He has a wealth of experience and lots of contacts, both here and overseas… as well as some visionary ideas, including streaming the festival in 3D. This will be the first time it’ll be done. It’s going to be amazing. Also, we’re looking at doing a North American tour,” Russell told the Jamaica Observer. JAMAICA’S SUPREME COURT RULES AGAINST DOWNSOUND RECORDING STUDIO’S LOCATION IN RESIDENTIAL AREA!

   Joe Bagdanovich— KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Supreme Court has handed down a judgement giving the owners of the popular Downsound recording studio at 43 St Andrew Park, a property zoned for residential use, to return the premises to its original use by September 16. The decision ends a long battle between the music producers and residents of the east central St Andrew community, over whether the premises should continue as a music studio. The studio was originally owned by the very successful dancehall producing brothers, Dave and Tony Kelly (Mad House Records), before it was sold in 2002 to current owner, Josef Bogdanovich, an American dancehall music producer and entrepreneur.
