AFTER AN EIGHT-YEAR BREAK, DESPERADO IS BACK WITH NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO!

 Desperado– AFTER a eight-year break from the industry, dancehall artist Desperado launched his latest video Turn Wid Yuh Liquor, featuring Tarnado, at the CPJ’s Cru Bar and Kitchen in St Andrew recently. The video is directed by Nordia Rose and shot locally. The occasion was supported by family and members of the entertainment fraternity. Words of encouragement came from Biggy, Devonte, Chico, Mama Mohina Cole, and dancer Aji. Released in February, the single Turn Wid Yuh Liquor is produced by Burro Instrumentals of Slam Records.    Top: Sly & Robbie Bottom: An aerial view of the Cuban capital, Havana AN Australian music producer and a group of Jamaican musicians head to Cuba this week for recording sessions in Havana, that country’s capital. The project, which has Havana Meets Kingston as a working title, was conceived by Jake Savona, an Australian who has worked with a number of Jamaican artistes since 2004. The musicians — renowned drum-and-bass team of Sly and Robbie, guitarist Winston ‘Bo Pee’ Bowen, percussionist Bongo Herman and singer Leroy Sibbles — are scheduled to record with Cuban musicians over 10 days. SEVENTEEN JAMAICAN ACTS FOR THE SIERRA NEVADA WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL JUNE 20-22!

Tarrus Riley & Derrick Morgan— A SLEW of Jamaican acts are scheduled to perform at the 21st annual Sierra Nevada World Music Festival set to take place in Boonville, California, from June 20-22. A total of 17 reggae and dancehall acts have been advertised for the three-day festival. The Sierra Nevada show, along with another California event, Reggae On The River, are the longest-running ‘reggae’ festivals in the United States. Fast-rising roots reggae act Kabaka Pyramid and his Bebble Rockers band are among the headliners for the first night.
