THE FAMILY OF FRANKIE PAUL IS SEEKING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WITH HIS MEDICAL BILLS!
By K’Shema Francis— The family of veteran entertainer Frankie Paul is seeking financial help for the singer. Frankie Paul has been admitted to the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), Mona since April 2017. According to his sister, Tish Clarke, Frankie has a hospital bill of $1.4 million in outstanding payments. In a video posted on Youtube, Wayne Lonesome and Frankie’s sister, Tisha in their request to seek financial assistance had this to say. As a result, the singer has been prescribed dialysis treatments twice weekly at a cost of $20,000 per treatment. Meanwhile the cost for the Intensive Care Unit is approximately $60,000. VETERAN PRODUCER TREVOR ELLIOTT READIES SUGAR MINOTT TRIBUTE, “SWEET LIKE SUGAR” FOR EARLY NEXT YEAR!
Trevor Elliott— Sweet Like Sugar: A Tribute To The Late Sugar Minott is the title of an album scheduled for release in early 2017. It is produced by veteran Trevor Elliott for his Musical Ambassador label. He told the Jamaica Observer that some of the artists he recruited for the project were close to Minott who died in 2010. They include singers Tony Tuff and Tristan Palma. The former was a member of the African Brothers, an early 1970’s vocal trio that included Minott and Derrick Howard. Palmer was a childhood friend of Minott’s. He recorded a number of songs for the latter’s Youth Promotion label. Dean Fraser, D’Empress Marcia J Ball, Horace Martin, Asante Amen and Nina Karle also contribute to ‘ Sweet Like Sugar’.
