ENGINEER/PRODUCER Collin ‘Bulby’ York’s latest project called Bulby York… Epic and Ting will be out in August on Greensleeves Records and his Bulby York Music label.

It hears York working with established and emerging acts.

“The concept is me being the artist/producer who makes the beats and get the best songs with talented artists from the Caribbean. It is similar to a David Guetta or a Calvin Harris project,” said York in an interview with the Jamaica Observer.

Guetta and Harris are popular EDM producers.

Some of the tracks on ‘Epic and Ting’ are Psalm 21 (Praises) featuring Sizzla; Whom Shall I Fear (Agent Sasco and Tenor Saw); All Night Long featuring Maxi Priest and Brigadier Jerry; Babylon Shame (Anthony Red Rose); Anything Goes with Beres Hammond and Bounty Killer; Soul Almighty featuring Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry and Jesse Royal; and Streets with Busy Signal.

Epic and Ting is York’s first major project since leaving the successful Fat Eyes camp. His interest in music developed as a teenager.

“I started going to the studio at the age of 14. I used to be around King Tubby’s studio and that’s when my interest in engineering developed. After King Tubby died, I went to Mixing Lab studios as an intern and began working with producers including Winston Riley, Sly and Robbie, Steely and Clevie, Roy Francis, Donovan Germain and others,” York recalled.

York began producing in 1992 when his uncle started a label called C&G Music. One year later, he teamed with Lynford ‘Fatta’ Marshall to start Fat Eyes label which produced a number of hit songs including Want You Back by Singing Melody, Memories by Beenie Man, Stuckie (Bounty Killer), In or Out (Capleton), Jah Works (Terror Fabulous), Video Light (Mr Lexx and Mr Vegas), and Put Down Your Weapon by Capleton and Yami Bolo.
