Singer Kafinal is delighted about his new single I Don’t Wanna Wait.
Produced by Trench Town-based Triple L Records, the track was released earlier this month.
“I Don’t Wanna Wait is a call to show the love while we are alive and able to experience and appreciate it,” said Kafinal.
Kafinal, who won the Juno Award for Best Reggae Recording in April, has been experiencing a career boost since winning Canada’s highest musical honor. He won for the collaborative effort Nah Complain, featuring veteran deejay Daddy U-Roy.
Kafinal (given name Jeffery Williams) hails from Spanish Town in St Catherine. He migrated to Canada seven years ago.
“Over the summer I was very busy. I did some of the major festivals across Canada, including Calgary reggae festival, the Toronto Reggae Festival and Jamaica Day in Ottawa,” he said.
For the past three weeks, Crying Out for Love, a collaboration between Kafinal, King Yellow Man and Ken Boothe, has been the number one song on the Rebel Vibez Canadian Top Ten Reggae Chart.
“Crying Out For Love was written 12 years ago by myself and Mytania “Sambo” Samuels in response to the many injustices to humanity and the abuse to nature, among other things,” he added. His other singles include Born to Be Wild and Inna Di Lane.
