GRAND CAYMAN BUSINESS WOMAN CLAIMS THAT BEENIE MAN’S NO-SHOW HAS DAMAGED HER REPUTATION!

Ann Marie Logan, a Grand Cayman businesswoman, is claiming that Beenie Man’s no-show for an event in Cayman last Friday has resulted in massive financial losses. “We spent CI$25,000 (approximately J$3.8 million) to keep the show in Grand Cayman and it was not held. I need the money back,” Logan told THE STAR yesterday. “I hold no grudge and don’t have any vendetta. I just want to recover my money,” she said. But Beenie Man’s manager, Rohan ‘Blue’ Smith, said Beenie Man was unavoidably absent. He said that Beenie Man wanted to do the show but members of his Zagazow band were unable to secure work permits to travel for the show. BEENIE MAN AND CARLENE THE DANCEHALL QUEEN, CELEBRATE THEIR DAUGHTER CRYSTAL’S GRADUATION!

 Crystal Davis, the daughter of Beenie Man and Dancehall Queen Carlene has graduated from high school and her parents are elated. The 17-year-old who graduated on Thursday has since been receiving congratulatory messages from family and friends and her parents can’t help congratulating their little one too. BOUNTY KILLER SLAMS PROMOTERS OF REGGAE SUMFEST OVER CHANGES!

ARTISTS AND PRODUCERS GOT MORE $ FOR THEIR WORKS IN 2015, ACCORDING TO REPORT FROM JACAP!

Beenie Man and D’Angel—- Entertainers, music producers and other members in the creative arts took home more money as a result of their creative works last year. The 3,479 members of the Jamaica Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers (JACAP) received $39 million in royalty payment in 2015 from the association. This is a noticeable improvement on 2014 when $12.7 million was paid out to members. At that time, the membership stood at 3,397. JACAP also saw an improvement in the amount of royalties it collected from overseas sources. In 2015, the association collected $14.1 million, an increase of $7.3 million, relative to 2014. JACAP was established in March 1998 to oversee the collective administration of music copyright in Jamaica, and administer rights on behalf of songwriters, composers and publishers. BEENIE MAN IS BUILDING A CHURCH FOR AN INNER-CITY COMMUNITY!

By Bjorn Burke— Beenie Man– Iconic Jamaican entertainer Beenie Man is building a church in the inner-city community of Waterhouse in St Andrew, with the intention of not only giving residents there another place of worship, but also for them to have greater access to social amenities such as computers and a library. “It nuh have nothing to do with moving on to a religion. My religion is Rastafarian, and that is it,” Beenie Man said. As a child, the entertainer attended church at the same spot where the new church is being constructed.
